Jean Baker WhiteAKD certified categories of hand knitter expertise:
Although Jean comes from a strong knitting background, it wasn't until she was a student in England ('68-'73) that she realized a person could actually invent what they wanted to knit! From that time on, she became a serious student of the history of this fine art, researching techniques and (being self-taught) experimenting with them. These days, she designs for individual shops, does commission design and construction work, as well as teaches groups and individuals, while maintaining a busy schedule of quilt designing and publishing.
