Knitter¹s - Cover Spring 2006

Diane is a nationally recognized, free lance knitwear designer having over 350 published designs to her credit in all major knitting magazines and as well as numerous yarn company collections. Her fascination with fiber began at the age of seven, when she began to sew and crochet; she has been knitting for over 35 years. Her professional career began in 1984 after receiving encouragement from Elizabeth Zimmermann to publish her designs. In addition to designing, Diane also is a technical editor on a freelance basis.

Living at the edge of a national wildlife refuge, the changing colors and scenes often have an effect on Diane's work. Her background as a professional seamstress is reflected in her attention to design detail. Diane's design philosophy is that of creating classic, but up-to-date, garments that can be enjoyed for many seasons.

Teaching for over 20 years, Diane has conducted workshops and classes at Knitter's Stitches Expo, TNNA National Conventions, Midwest Masters Weekends, as well as shops, guilds and organizations nationwide. Contact her for class fees and available dates.
