Amy's fascination with fashion design began at a young age when, inspired by Bob Mackie, she created gowns for her favorite dolls. During her college years and while working as a costumer and dresser for a live show at Kings Island Amusement Park, Amy spent time between shows learning to hand knit from one of the show's performers. In 1990, she received her BS in fashion design from the University of Cincinnati. Amy spent many years in Product Development, Design and Technical Design, creating ready-to-wear apparel, before returning to her passion of knitting, when she launched indulge distinctive knitwear in 2003. Her designs have been published in Knitter's and KnitSimple magazines, and with JCA yarns, One Planet Yarn and Fiber, and Y2Knit. She is currently developing her own pattern line to be published under the indulge distinctive knitwear name in 2008.
